“That was regrettable. That was kind of an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “Present was a large group of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was entirely unintentional, occurring amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply put up the wrong finger,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently done. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got corrected pretty quick.”
